JOB TITLE:                Off the Path Cannabis Dispensary Budtender

REPORTS TO:           Off the Path Cannabis Dispensary Manager/Assistant Manager

FLSA STATUS:           Non-Exempt

SUMMARY:

The Budtender is a cannabis expert who helps customers find and purchase products at the dispensary.  They often work with recreational users of cannabis, so they typically have a wide range of knowledge about cannabis products and their different uses and benefits.  Their job is to offer suggestions to customers, answer questions, handle products and showcase products being sold.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be able to meet background and licensing standards throughout employment.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license, Tribal or State ID.
  • Minimum 21 years of age.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Significant customer service skills with a preference in a highly regulated field and retail environment.
  • Knowledge of cannabis strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, and their respective effects.
  • Considerable exposure to retail cultures focused on well-developed standard operating procedures.
  • Work history that demonstrates stability, progressive responsibility, and willingness to accept new duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assist customers in finding the best medical marijuana products to best suit their needs.
  • Ensure customer documentation has been completed.
  • Provide education to customers regarding cannabis products, effects, news, methods, and technology.
  • Maintain sanitary product handling procedures while retrieving customer’s desired product from its respective designated location on the sales floor.
  • Maintain knowledge of cannabis strains, cannabinoids, terpenes, and their respective effects.
  • Maintain knowledge of current inventory, daily deals, and product price points.
  • Accurately handle payments for customers’ transactions.
  • Perform basic daily cleaning and sanitation duties as directed by Manager and Assistant Manager.
  • Report to the Manager/Assistant Manager.
  • Regular attendance necessary.
  • Regular punctuality necessary.
  • Available and willing to work any changes in hours on the schedule at any time during employment.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Sensitive to Native American Culture.
  • Knowledge of the Lower Sioux Indian Community Dispensary Handbook.
