Job Title: Healthy Generations Project Coordinator
Department: Lower Sioux Community Health
Reports to: Community Health Director
Location: LSIC Healthcare Center, with occasional work at Rec. Center
Full Time: 40 hours per week within the hours of 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., with potential evening and weekend community activity work.
Wage: Dependent on qualifications
Summary:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage Lower Sioux Employee Wellness Program aimed at promoting physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Coordinate wellness activities, workshops, and seminars, ensuring a wide range of topics are covered, including stress management, nutrition, fitness, and mental health.
- Enforce existing tobacco use policies in the workplace, ensuring compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular reviews and updates of tobacco use policies to reflect current best practices.
- Address and resolve any violations of the tobacco use policy in a timely and effective manner, maintaining a healthy and safe work environment.
- Working with community members of all ages on a variety of community projects surrounding health and wellness.
- Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
- Assist in project reporting, evaluation, and project assessments, including collecting all project activity data

- Maintain visibility in the community and participate in and coordinate a variety of community activities, such as community gardening projects.
- Coordinate all program goals and objectives, under the advisement of the project manager
- Adhere to program policies and procedures, as well as, all Lower Sioux Indian Community Human Resources Policies and Procedures.
- Attend all mandatory meetings and trainings as required.
- Maintain confidentiality and a high degree of professional ethics at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required with relevant work experience.
- Background in public health or project coordination/management.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Must have valid Minnesota driver’s license and proof of insurance.
- Must be insurable under the tribe’s auto insurance
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Working knowledge of computer operation and skills in Microsoft Office.
- Data collection, including figures, surveys, interviews, photos, participation rates.
- Understanding of Lower Sioux Cultural values, lifestyles, traditions
- Excellent attendance and punctuality is a must.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and a positive working relationship with community and staff.
- Subject to drug screen.
- Must pass a background check allowing work in a health care setting
- Interest in and commitment to American Indian/Alaska Native health.
- Native Preference applies.
Physical Requirements:
- Physical activity associated with this position may include, bending, stooping, lifting, standing and carrying.
- Ability to engage in gardening or experience with gardening and healthy lifestyles work.
