JOB TITLE:                Receptionist

DEPARTMENT:         Tribal Administration

REPORTS TO:           Community Council

FLSA STATUS:           Non-Exempt

STATUS:                     Full Time

SUMMARY:

Welcomes visitors by greeting them, in person or on the telephone, answering or referring inquiries. Directs visitors by maintaining employee and department directories, giving instructions. Maintains security by following procedures.  Receives packages and helps with outgoing mail.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Answers phone at the front desk and forwards the calls to the appropriate staff person.
  • Must have computer skills.
  • Must have excellent communication skills.
  • Able to use UC Client.
  • Keeps the office neat and presentable for visitors.
  • Dresses appropriately to welcome the public and be courteous and polite at all times.
  • Must maintain confidentiality.
  • Keep updated on community information.
  • Handout paperwork for the community events and job descriptions.
  • Receive financial information regarding financial assistance programs.
  • Regular attendance necessary.
  • Regular punctuality necessary.
  • Available and willing to work any changes in hours on the schedule at any time during employment.
  • Other duties as assigned

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Computer Skills.
  • Must be confidential.
  • Excellent communication skills.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Able to sit for extended periods of time.
  • Mobility throughout the office.
