JOB TITLE:                IT Support II

DEPARTMENT:         Information Technology

REPORTS TO:           Lower Sioux IT Director

FLSA STATUS:           Non-Exempt

SALARY GRADE:      BFN    

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field preferred, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum of three years of experience in network and systems administration.
  • Proficiency in managing computer networks, servers, and associated hardware and software.
  • Strong understanding of network protocols, security practices, and system integration.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and communication skills.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Desktop PC support and troubleshooting.
  • Design, implement, and maintain computer networks, servers, and related infrastructure.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to end users on network and systems-related issues.
  • Utilize ticketing system to document, prioritize, and track support requests and system changes.
  • Perform routine maintenance and upgrades on network devices, servers, and software.
  • Monitor network performance and security and implement necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
  • Manage user accounts, permissions, and access controls.
  • Conduct regular backups and disaster recovery procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party providers to resolve technical issues and procure necessary equipment and services.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for network and systems configurations, procedures, and policies.
  • Assist in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies to enhance network and systems capabilities.
  • Participate in on-call rotation and respond to after-hours emergencies as needed.
  • Adhere to security standards and policies to safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND ATTRIBUTES:

  • Strong knowledge of network protocols, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, and VPNs.
  • Proficiency in managing Windows and Linux server environments.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V.
  • Familiarity with network monitoring tools and security protocols.
  • Excellent analytical and troubleshooting abilities.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proactive approach to identifying and addressing potential issues.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards.
  • Thorough knowledge of HITECH security standards.
  • Sensitivity to Native American Culture.
  • Dependable and ethical work ethic.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Normal mobility throughout the property.
  • Able to pull networking cable throughout the property.
  • Able to work under stressful conditions.
